Habrera Hativeet formed in
1977 and has toured abroad regularly since its formation.
Representing the eclectic mix of Israeli cultural influences of Sepharadic,
North African and Middle Eastern origins in World Music Festivals, Jewish
Music Festivals and Multi Cultural events around the world.
Tours has included:

Shlomo
Bar
Shlomo Bar, the group's founder and moving spirit, was born in Rabat,
Morocco, in 1943. Composer, drummer, flutist and vocalist, Bar draws
on Biblical and modern Israeli themes for his original music. "With
the oriental approach to art," says Bar, "there has to be
continuity between past and present. In my music I try to create this
bond to be a link in the chain connecting my parents to my children."
Bar has composed music for several theatrical productions, including
Joshua Sobol's Kriza (Crisis) and War of the Jews, and Gabriel Bensimhon's
A Moroccan King. As a musician, Bar has collaborated successfully
with various singers of both Middle Eastern and Western influence,
including David Da'or, Etty Ankari, Yehoram Gaon, Ehud Banai, Meir
Banai, Yehudit Ravitz, Rita, Greek star Glykeria, and Israeli Arab
singer Amal Murkus..

Ilan
Ben-Ami
Guitarist Ilan Ben-Ami is a graduate of the Rimon School of Jazz and
Modern Music in Israel. He has been bringing his love of classical
Spanish guitar music, the Mediterranean oud and Turkish jumboosh to
Habrera Hativeet since 1990.

Albert
"Beber" Eifargan
Albert "Beber" Eifargan, sound technician, has been dedicated
to Habrera Hativeet for over 20 years. He discovered his calling at
age 10 on a school field trip to the theater. By the time he was 15,
he was working regularly in the field, and has since worked with the
Inbal Dance Company, Red Sea Jazz Festival and Algerian world music
star Cheb Khaled.

Yael
Offenbach
Yael Offenbach studied tabla with master Pandit Sharda Sahai at the
Indian music department at Dartington College of Arts, England. She
has played with several ethnic groups in Israel, including Essev Bar
and Aura, and is often invited to perform with leading classical Indian
musicians visiting Israel. Yael brought her talents to Habrera Hativeet
in 1992, and currently plays dholak, daira and darbuka with the group.

Nitsan-Chen
Razel
Nitsan-Chen Razel studied violin and composition at the Jerusalem
Academy of Music and Dance. In addition to his work with Habrera Hativeet,
Nitsan is also a member of Reva l'Sheva and the Joseph and One Choir.
He has also performed with numerous other artists, including famed
rock singer Ehud Banai. Off-stage, Nitsan-Chen teaches at the High
School for Art & Science in Jerusalem.

Menashe
Sasson
Menashe Sasson, born in Iran, studied classical Persian music with
the famed santur player Kiu Haghighi, and later at the Music Academy
of Tehran. He immigrated to Israel in 1963 and has performed at festivals
around the world. In 1980 he premiered the Chant for Santur &
Chamber Orchestra written for him by one of Israel's foremost composers,
Tzvi Avni, and recently performed it again with the Edmonton Symphony
Orchestra. He is also the founder of Ensemble Esfahan, a group of
Iranian and Israeli artists performing folk, ethnic and classical
Persian music, where he plays Santur, and is a regular performer in
the International Cimbalom Festival.

Ilan
Aviv
Ilan Aviv, Bass Guitar,Born in 1968 in Israel to a musical family
of Persian origin.
Studied music privately. In his first years as a professional musician
Ilan played drums in several bands in Israel who played Persian music.
Played Bass Guitar in "Pikud Darom" during his army service.
Since 1989 Ilan accompany artist in live performances, recordings
and T.V. shows.
Leading artists as: Boaz Sharabi, Mati Caspi, Dani Litani, Yoni Rohe,
Yael Levi and more. Ilan is the owner of a recording studio in Tel-Aviv.
He is the musical manager of Boaz Sharabi and Hamsa group. Apart from
his main instrument, Bass Guitar, Ilan plays the Drums, Keyboard,
Guitar and Persian Santur. Ilan joined Habrera Hativeet in 2003 and
performs regularly with the band in Israel and Abroad.

Emmanuel
Mann
Emmanuel Mann (based in NYC), Electric Bass. Born in France, Emmanuel
Mann studied jazz composition and film-making in Paris. He moved to
Israel and specialized in Middle Eastern music, and is one of Israel's
top bass players. He became a member of Israel's first ethnic group,
Habrera Hativeet, and later joined Bustan Abraham - an internationally
acclaimed Jewish and Arab ensemble. He is currently a member of Sons
of Sepharad, the New York Middle- Eastern Ensemble, Giullari Di Piazzi,
Diaspora Band, Ishtar The Voice Of Alabina, various jazz projects
and recordings, and teaches private students.
Emmanuel has worked with top musicians from all over the world, including
Zakir Hussein, Hariprasad Chaurasia, Omar Faruk Tekbilek, Zohar Fresco,
Taiseer Elias, Simon Shaheen, Alessandra Belloni, Andy Statman, Alberto
Mizrahi, Dudu Fisher, Avraham Fried, Uri Caine, Ken Butler, Sam Newsome,
Matt Darriau, Dariush and Noa. He has performed, among other places,
at the Israel Festival, the Budapest Spring Festival, the Hong Kong
Asian Arts Festival, le Theatre De La Ville, the Queen Elizabeth Hall,
the Krakov Jewish Music Festival, World Expo - Seville, Cordoba Festival
Guitarra, the Akbank Jazz Festival in Istanbul, the Kennedy Center,
and the Jewish Repertory Theater. He has also led workshops at Berklee
and Julliard.
